Refund Policy
Effective 26 July 2026
How Datavanta Labs Limited handles refunds for doc2api. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
30-day money-back guarantee. Ask within 30 days of a payment and we refund it in full. No forms, no conditions, no explanation needed. Email legal@doc2api.co and the money goes back to however you paid.
1.The guarantee: 30 days
Every payment you make to us comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. That covers your first subscription payment, every renewal after it, and any add-on. Ask within 30 days of the payment and you get all of it back.
You don’t need a reason. You don’t need to have used the account a certain amount, or not used it. If you changed your mind, or the product turned out not to fit, or you simply forgot to cancel, that’s enough.
The 30 days run from the date of the payment you want back, not from when you signed up.
2.How to ask
Email legal@doc2api.co from the address on the account. Tell us which payment you mean: the date and amount, or the invoice number if you have it. That’s all we need.
We reply within 5 business days. The money goes back to whatever you paid with, since that’s the only place it can go, and takes 5–10 business days to appear depending on your bank.
Our payments run through Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. So Paddle is what shows up on your statement, and you can raise a refund with Paddle directly if you’d rather. Either route works and both reach the same place.
3.You can also just try it free
Worth knowing before you pay at all: the Free plan isn’t a countdown. It has a monthly document allowance and everything the paid plans do: the API, the embed SDK, webhooks, signatures, at a smaller scale. You can also use doc2api without an account, where output is watermarked and the work clears after 24 hours.
If you’re unsure whether a plan covers what you need, email legal@doc2api.co and ask. We’d rather help you pick the right plan than process a refund later, though the guarantee above stands either way.
4.Cancelling
Cancel whenever you want. There’s no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your plan keeps working until the period you already paid for runs out, after which the account drops to the Free plan.
Cancelling and refunding are separate things: you can cancel without asking for money back, or ask for money back within 30 days and cancel at the same time. Just say which you want.
Your data stays where it is. Templates, submissions and keys survive until you delete them or close the account, within the retention windows in our Privacy Policy. One thing to watch: a plan with a shorter retention window prunes older submission history, so export anything you need before you drop down.
5.If something went wrong on our side
Outside the 30 days, tell us anyway when the problem is ours rather than a change of mind:
- a duplicate charge, or a charge for the wrong amount or the wrong plan;
- a charge after you cancelled;
- a charge on an account you didn't authorise;
- an outage on our side that made the Service unusable for a real part of a billing period;
- tax charged incorrectly for your location.
We fix those regardless of how long ago they happened. That’s us correcting a mistake, which isn’t really a refund question at all.
6.Your statutory rights
Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you. Consumers in the UK, the EU and elsewhere have their own statutory cancellation rights for digital services, and Paddle honours those as the merchant of record. Where such a right gives you more than this page does, you get the more generous outcome.
7.Price and plan changes
If we change prices, your subscription keeps its current price until the end of the period you’re in, and we email you before the change takes effect, as set out in our Terms of Service. Don’t want the new price? Cancel before it applies and you won’t be charged it.
